The National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced that Romania’s economy recorded a 0.9% growth in 2024, according to revised estimates. In the last quarter of last year, GDP increased by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023 and by 0.8% from the previous quarter.
This moderate growth is primarily attributed to private consumption and foreign direct investment, although experts warn of economic risks posed by inflation and uncertainties in the energy market.
The Ministry of Finance has announced continued measures to stimulate the economy, including investments in infrastructure and support for SMEs. However, economic analysts remain cautious about Romania’s long-term economic outlook.
