„The relations between Romania and Türkiye are indeed very extensive. You know very well that this relationship comes from somewhere in the past. After Romania declared its independence, relations with Türkiye have always moved in a positive direction. In fact, this year we are celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Balkan Alliance. It is a relationship of allies, of neighbours, which continues on this path. (…) We have strong relations. On the one hand, both countries are members of NATO, where they have numerous collaborations, strategic relations have advanced as never before, we are working together with the air force, protecting Romania’s airspace. As far as security in the Black Sea is concerned, there is a quite serious threat that we are trying to keep under control. We have decided to do an operation in cooperation with Romania and Bulgaria.”
